The concept note is the first out of two steps when applying for funding of Interreg Baltic Sea Region. It is a pre-designed form which outlines the project in general terms. It has to be submitted to the Managing Authority/ Joint Secretariat within two months after the call for applications is published.
At the concept note step, projects will be evaluated by their strategic relevance against the background of the Cooperation Programme. Therefore, in the concept note form, applicants need to provide information about the core partnership in place, the main activities planned and the overall budget envisaged. Operational aspects such as a detailed work plan, full partnership and budget details have to be described only when submitting the full application, the second step.
In order to help applicants develop their project ideas in a targeted manner, the MA/JS provides the draft concept note for download. The final concept note will be published together with the announcement of the first call for projects which is planned for early December.
The two-step approach is a new feature of the Programme during the period 2014 to 2020. It is meant to save resources for all parties: applicants, assessors and decision makers.
