Seed money is funding to support the preparation of projects in line with the Action Plan of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR). Interreg Baltic Sea Region is currently supporting 25 seed money projects with EUR 1.1 million from the European Regional Development Fund.
Due to a rather small amount of funding sources still available in this programming period, and consequently a lower number of projects that seed money projects could provide support to, the Programme plans to open a new seed money call at a later stage with the aim to support the development of projects applying for funds in the future programming period. The call would be opened in autumn/winter 2019 so that new seed money projects could be implemented from summer 2020 to summer 2021. The Policy Area and Horizontal Action Coordinators expressed their support for this approach.
