Joint messages papers

The managing authorities and joint secretariats of transnational Interreg programmes had set up a “transnational cooperation project” among the programmes including Interreg Europe, and facilitated by Interact to identify convincing examples of the added value of transnational cooperation across the regions and countries. Now we are proud to present a truly joint result of our work: "Ten things to know about transnational cooperation" underpinned by project examples from ten different areas of Europe. The European territory is rich and diverse, as you can see from the examples, yet the messages about the benefits of transnational cooperation are the same.

Additionally, we selected three of the ten common messages, and added six more projects characteristic for Baltic Sea cooperation. So in specific, there are a lot more “Things to know about transnational cooperation in the Baltic Sea region”.

Time to speak for Interreg!

Both documents illustrate how funding transnational cooperation brings true European added value also to your country and your region as part of the EU cohesion policy.

Currently, the public consultations on EU funds in the area of cohesion are ongoing. In 2018, the Commission will make comprehensive proposals for the next generation of financial programmes for the post-2020 Multiannual Financial Framework, which is the EU's long–term budget. To this end, the Commission assesses what worked well in the past and what could be improved in the future.

You can voice your opinion and fill in an online questionnaire by 8 March 2018.

In this context, we hope that these two documents will provide you with valuable proof points and examples to speak for transnational cooperation, to speak for united Europe.

Have a say in shaping the future of your region and Europe!
