75 project concepts selected: statistics

75 project concepts were selected by the representatives of ten countries around the Baltic Sea on 13-14 September during the fifth meeting of the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Monitoring Committee. The Monitoring Committee reviewed 212 concept notes submitted by the project applicants in the first step. Statistics on selected and rejected concept notes are now available.

Competition was particularly strong for innovation projects (priority 1) - out of the proposed concepts less than half were selected. For projects in the priorities natural resources (priority 2) and transport (priority 3), more than half of the submitted concepts were selected. More details on the selected and rejected concepts are available.

The concept notes had been submitted in the second call which was opened on 1 March and closed on 1 June 2016. The selected concept notes will be developed into mature project applications by the lead applicants and their partners by January 2017.

The lead applicants of the selected concept notes will receive, during the coming days, detailed information on step 2 of the call as well as invitations to the project development seminars on 12-13 October in Berlin and 19-20 October in Riga.

The final approval of project applications will take place at the next Monitoring Committee meeting in May 2017. Information about the next call will be announced at a later stage.
