The Monitoring Committee, which decides on project applications, oversees the overall implementation and is responsible for the correct use of funds, selected 39 project applications out of 71 submitted project applications and allocated about EUR 87 million of the European Regional Developing Fund (ERDF). Supporting business incubators to effectively support game start-ups and low temperature district heating are examples of ideas supported by the Monitoring Committee.
Altogether, EUR 177 million out of EUR 264 million from the Programme's ERDF funding have now been allocated to projects. Authorities from local, regional and national levels, research and training institutions, sectoral agencies and associations, NGOs and enterprises from around the Baltic Sea will work together for the next three years to develop joint solutions to common challenges in the Baltic Sea region. More detailed information on projects and funds will be available soon.
