Interreg Baltic Sea Region is currently planning the next seven-year programme and considering everything from thematic focus to simplifying paperwork. We first needed an overview of how the region has developed in the past seven years. This report by Spatial Foresight analyses the institutional capacity in the Baltic Sea region in the thematic fields and sectors covered by the Programme.
2020 has seen a striking rise in digital communication, as physical meetings became impossible in international contexts such as Interreg cooperation. The new storymap #MadeWithInterreg is one such example of digital communication. It was set-up jointly by 13 transnational Interreg Programmes and Interreg Europe and provides those interested in Interreg project achievements with access to the best compilation of results that each Programme offers.
Members of the Joint Programming Committee Task Force have agreed on the revised topics that will drive transnational cooperation in the Baltic Sea region in the next programming period 2021-2027.
While first Interreg Baltic Sea Region projects are about to finalise their activities, the Programme offers its support in increasing their impact in the region by extending project activities and joining projects in platforms. Check on the statistics of the two recently closed application calls for the extension stage projects and project platforms.
