The Baltic Sea Day 

The Baltic Sea Day brings together representatives of all Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission - Helsinki Commission (HELCOM) countries and other European states to discuss the challenges of the Baltic Sea and achievements in the region. Public authorities, parliamentarians, research and academic institutions, NGOs present their solutions and share opinions. This year, the focus is on the process of updating the HELCOM Baltic Sea Action Plan and its further implementation until 2030. 

Interreg Baltic Sea Region projects at the Baltic Sea Day 

In the framework of the forum, best practices, experiences and #MadeWithInterreg solutions are presented among others:

• advancing smart water management and increasing resilience of urban waters to climate change: BSR WATER;

• strengthening circular economy and establishing industrial chains from waste to resource: Baltic Industrial Symbiosis 

• enhancing environmentally friendly agriculture: Manure Standards  

• treating pharmaceutical discharges: CWPharma

• improving treatment of industrial wastewaters: BEST

• strengthening maritime spatial planning and planning road maps for implementation: Capacity4MSP
