XIX International Environmental Forum
Global and regional environmental matters are in focus during the XIX International Environmental Forum "Baltic Sea Day" in St. Petersburg, Russia. The agenda of the Forum is based on proposals developed by key stakeholders. It reflects the latest issues concerning the Baltic Sea environment and current regional activities, including:
- involvement of municipalities
- assuring good environmental status of the Sea
- environmental safety in the region.
In a presentation, Interreg Baltic Sea Region, represented by the Managing Authority/Joint Secretariat, explains the Programme's support to improving the state of the Baltic Sea through transnational cooperation. We give examples of how projects financed by Interreg Baltic Sea Region contribute to reaching the goals of the Baltic Sea Action Plan, in particular in fields such as waste water treatment and agriculture. Afterwards, several projects share their findings and good practices on how to make the Baltic Sea healthier.
The draft agenda is available here.
