The European Week of Regions and Cities is the biggest annual Brussels-based event dedicated to regional policy, attracting several thousand participants: government officials, representatives of private companies, financial institutions and European and national associations, as well as members of the European Committee of the Regions, members of the European Parliament, and national, regional and local politicians including young elected politicians. The themes for the 2020 edition are
This year, the European Week of Regions and Cities will spread over three consecutive weeks in October, each dedicated to one timely topic:
- 5-9 October: Empowering Citizens,
- 12-16 October: Cohesion and cooperation,
- 19-22 October: Green Europe, in cooperation with the Green Week.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the related health and safety measures, the majority of the 500 sessions will be in fully digital format. Among the exceptions are key events and workshops requiring interpretation, which are going to be organized in a hybrid format (online with a limited physical presence). Some events such as exhibitions and regional tastings can be either digital or physical.
Registration for the 18th European Week of Regions and Cities will close on 27 September 2020.

13 October, 14:30-15:00: Circular economy for a green Europe – Regiostars finalists talk
EcoDesign Circle is a finalist of the RegioStars Awards in the category "Circular Economy for a greener Europe", and Conrad Dorer of the German Environmental Agency (UBA) participates in a panel discussion.
14 October, 11:30-13:00: How to create a successful podcast with Interact and audio specialist Craig Templeton Smith
Earlier in the year, Interreg launched its first ever podcast series called 'This is Europe' with one of the projects featured was Interreg BSR's cities.multimodal. In this session, the podcast producer will explain what it takes to make a podcast series and will guide you through the basics of podcasting.
14 October, 14:30-16:00: Interreg 30 years project slam
The NonHazCity project battles in the Grand Finale of the Interreg 30 Years Project Slam in the categorx "Green Europe". A stage play, pre-recorded and designed with the help of a professional trainer is presented.
14 October, 19:00-20:30: Award ceremony for the RegioStars
With the project EcoDesign Circle as a finalist in the category “Circular economy for a green Europe”

12-16 October: Virtual exhibition "Cooperation Village"
The cooperation village is a virtual exhibition dedicated to 30 Years of Interreg and is organised by INTERact. Interreg Baltic Sea Region is represented in several places, among them:
No borders with transnational cooperation: In this virtual stand Transnational Interreg Programmes jointly present achievements and invite people to walk through the world of transnational cooperation.The virtual stand was coordinated by Interreg Baltic Sea Region adn Interreg Atlantic with support of www.iservice.at and INTERact.
