The Interreg Baltic Sea Region's Monitoring Committee  has set up a task force to discuss programme relevant topics in more details. In 2019 the Task Force became the Programming Task Force  to focus on discussing the development of a future Interreg programme in the Baltic Sea Region post 2020.

Each EU country in the Programme area, Norway and Russia sends up to three delegates each to the meetings, as done for the Monitoring Committee. Representatives of the Managing Authority/Joint Secretariat as well as of the European Commission participate in the Programming Task Force as advisors.

In 2019, the Programming Task Force meetings are chaired by the Monitoring Committee's Chairman from Germany.

During this 1st meeting, the following topics are on the agenda:

  • status of EU and national discussions on the draft EU legislative package post 2020
  • review of the project portfolio in Interreg Baltic Sea Region 2014-2020
  • topics for Interreg Baltic Sea Region cooperation
  • potential timeline and support for the programming process

Participation is open to members of the Monitoring Committee and their deputies.
