Additional funds for EUSBSR coordination in the pipeline
In early December, the Programme invites the coordinators of the EUSBSR Policy Areas and Horizontal Actions (PACs/HACs) to apply for additional funding. 18 coordinators had already received funding in May 2015. The upcoming targeted call secures strategy coordination until mid of 2018. A different targeted call is planned for mid December. It shall ensure the strategy’s visibility, to provide capacity building for its key stakeholders and to support the Strategy’s evaluation. Details about these calls will be available on the Programme website soon.
Geared up to facilitate macro-regional coordination
Providing direct co-financing to macro-regional strategy coordination is a new type of activity which the Programmehas taken on board for the period 2014 to 2020. “Throughout the preparation of these calls, we have learned to work successfully with the Strategy stakeholders”, says Ilze Ciganska, who is responsible for advice to applicants, assessment and monitoring of funds supporting the EUSBSR. “On the fund management side we are now ready to facilitate core activities of Strategy coordination until 2020.”
